Canceling a domain is one of the changes for which domain misuse protection (Domain Guard) requires approval. This is to protect you against the undesired loss of your domain name. For this reason, all authorized persons must approve your cancellation request before your domain can ultimately be canceled.

Procedure for termination with domain misuse protection

  1. Create request – You cancel the domain.
  2. Submit request – Domain misuse protection forwards your request to the authorized persons associated with the domain.
  3. Approval – Authorized persons approve or reject the request online.

Implementation with domain misuse protection (Domain Guard) with 1 authorized person

The authorized person has 7 days’ right of refusal. Should the authorized person not respond within this period, the termination is implemented.
