KPI′s

The KPI's tab of Edit Profile allows you to define your website's "Target Pages". These are the pages you want your website visitors to reach, the ones you identify as the final destination for your visitors as they navigate your website on the way to becoming customers or registering as members.

As Target Pages, you might wish include your sales checkout page, your new member registration page, a newsletter sign-up page, a software trial download page, or any page on your website you indentify as an important target for your visitors.

Enter your Target Pages

Enter only the base name of the Target Page beginning with a forward slash "/". Example: If your target page is [="http://www.domain.com/subdir/feedback.html,"=] enter only the base name: "/subdir/feedback.html".

Separate multiple pages with commas, e.g. /NewMemberRegistration.html, /checkout_success.php or /SalesBrochure.html.

Target Pages are used in performance reports to calculate conversions. If no pages are defined here, all your Performance reports will be empty.

Choosing the right target files

Logaholic profiles require a list of Target Pages in order to measure conversion rates for site performance. A Target Page is also known as a KPI (Key Performance Indicator). These specific pages or files are only requested when a certain action takes place, such as a page that displays when a customer is thanked for a purchase, completes a download, or registers for a subscription. These pages or files represent the final point of a transaction on the website and are how Logaholic determines when a conversion has taken place.

Example: A website called www.NewsAndInfo.com offers a newsletter. The performance of the website, its conversion rate, can be measured by the percentage of visitors who become subscribers to the newsletter. In this case, the final address visitors navigate to when they successfully subscribe to the newsletter is:

www.your-own-domain.com/newsletter_thanks.html

To measure the conversion rate in this scenario, we would enter the following into the KPI Target Files section of your Logaholic profile:

newsletter_thanks.html

If the address of the page includes a subdirectory, such as "www.NewsAndInfo.com/news/newsletter_thanks.html" we would enter:

/news/newsletter_thanks.html

Our sample website also includes pages where visitors can also purchase the organization?s printed publications. Knowing the percentage of visitors to the site that reach the final "thank you" page of the website?s shopping cart measures the conversion rate of visitors into paying customers. The process is the same as above, but this time, we include the base name of the last page or file of the order process, for example:

/shop/checkout_success.php

Add the base addresses of Target Pages in the profile, separating each with commas. The whole list for our example would now look like:

/news/newsletter_thanks.html, /shop/checkout_success.php

TIP: Add as many pages as you wish to the list of Target Pages, but avoid including any that are too general, such as "/index.html" that nearly every visitor sees. These pages aren't particularly useful in determining conversion, and including them will result in slowing down the conversion reports.

Click "Save" to save the changes you've made to your KPI Target Pages.
