What are breakout rooms and how are they used?

Hostpoint Meet makes it possible to create “breakout rooms”. Individual participants in a Meet video conference can be temporarily divided into smaller groups. Each of these groups can then continue the conversation – undisturbed and focused – in its own meeting room. The audio and video feed in each breakout room is kept completely separate from other breakout rooms and the main room.

Breakout rooms can be created using the menu item “Participants”. Only moderators can create breakout rooms. They can either assign participants to specific rooms or allow them to enter the rooms themselves. Moderators can also end the group breakout rooms at any time and bring participants back to the initial main room.
