A Managed Flex Server is a hosting service from Hostpoint. It is a fully virtualized, managed server infrastructure based on OpenStack that offers maximum flexibility as well as high performance and availability. A Managed Flex Server is a combination of a vServer (VPS) and web hosting, offering the benefits of both. As this is a managed service, Hostpoint handles all important and necessary security updates and other server updates for customers.
The service is aimed at SMEs, web agencies and developers with exacting requirements. Depending on the subscription you choose, up to 96 GB of RAM, 16 vCPU processors, 2 TB of web storage space and 2 GB of Nginx cache are included. In addition, an unlimited number of mailboxes are included, each with 5 GB storage. They can be upgraded to up to 100 GB e-mail storage, 250 GB Drive storage, Office functions and Drive functions at any time for a fee.
The Apache and Nginx web servers can be run at the same time. They enable the use of popular developer technologies such as Redis, Memcached and Tomcat. Programming languages such as Node.js, Java, Ruby or Python are also supported.
Managed Flex Servers are monitored around the clock and can be individually configured in the Hostpoint Control Panel. All data is stored in Switzerland and free 7-day support via e-mail or phone is included as part of the service (SLA optionally available).
