Have you decided on a Sites product? This article explains how to get started using Sites once you have placed an order.
Sites is Hostpoint’s website creator. It lets you effortlessly build your own website without any programming or design knowledge. You can create your own website using drag-and-drop by simply placing individual elements such as text, images and widgets in the desired locations.
When you order Sites, a free myhostpoint domain is automatically created. Of course, you can also use your own domain for the website created with Sites. Find out how to connect Sites with your domain in this article.
To start creating your website after you place your order, proceed as follows:
- Click on the setup link you received by e-mail.
- Log into the Hostpoint Control Panel. To do so, use the e-mail address (Hostpoint ID) that you entered when ordering, and the corresponding password.

- You will be taken directly to the start page for setting up sites. Click on “Start setup” and follow the steps in the setup wizard. This will guide you through the configuration of the address for your website and you can also create an e-mail address directly.
Note: Once setup is complete, the wizard will no longer be available. However, you can change the web address or create an e-mail address at any time later.
- Once setup is complete, click “Get started” to open Sites and start editing your website.
Possible problems during setup
- The desired web address (domain) is not available for selection because it is already assigned to a web hosting account.
→ Assign the domain in question to the Sites account in the domain management section under “Domains” > “Edit” > “Domain state”. - A message appears stating that too many domains have already been assigned. For Sites Basic, the limit is 1 assigned domain, for Sites Plus it is 5, and for Sites Max it is 20 domains. The .myhostpoint domain is not included in this count.
→ In the domain management section under “Domains” > “Edit” > “Domain state”, you can see which domains are assigned to the Sites account. Cancel one or more assignments here and try again to change the domain for Sites.
