Audriga’s migration service helps you migrate your e-mails from your previous provider to your new Hostpoint mailbox free of charge and easily. In this article, we’ll show you how.
Calling up the migration service
You can access e-mail migration via your e-mail account settings in the Hostpoint Control Panel.
If you have not yet created an e-mail address with Hostpoint, you must do so here. To do so, follow the instructions “How do I create an e-mail address?”. You can then start the migration.
- Log into the Hostpoint Control Panel with your Hostpoint ID.
- Open your web hosting and click on “E-mail” in the left-hand menu or directly open “E-Mail & Cloud Office” on the start page.
→ The overview shows all e-mail addresses that you have created. - Click on “Edit” next to the desired e-mail address.
- In the menu on the left, click on “E-mail migration service” and then “Start your free e-mail migration now”.
→ You will be redirected to Audriga’s migration service.
Starting your migration
- Select your current e-mail provider. Hostpoint is already preselected as the new provider.
- Enter the e-mail address for the migration status notifications.
- Indicate whether you are a private or business customer.
- Click the “Proceed” button.
- Enter the full e-mail address of the source and destination mailbox and the corresponding passwords.
- Click on “Check” for both mailboxes. If the information is correct, a green checkmark will appear.
- If you agree with the mailbox details, click “Confirm”.
- If you want the migration to take place later, select “Later” instead of “Immediately”.
- Click “Proceed“.
→ You will see an overview of your planned migration. The number of e-mails to be migrated, including storage space required, is also displayed. - Click “Proceed” again.
- You will see a summary of the migration again. If all the details under “Details” are correct, click “Start migration”.
→ The migration is started. The progress is displayed directly on this page.
→ You will be notified by e-mail as soon as the migration is completed. Any errors are listed in the message.
Delta migration
If more messages arrive in your previous mailbox during the e-mail migration, you can transfer them later by means of a delta migration. To start the delta migration, open the link for your migration request and click on “Start delta migration”.
