Maintenance and adjustment work as well as updates must be done by yourself or by your webmaster.
How often you have to update your WordPress including plugins and themes depends on the number of installed plugins and themes. Basically we recommend to log in to the backend of your WordPress installation at least once a week, check for upcoming updates and install them.

Info: Tip: From version 5.5, WordPress offers the option of automatically updating plug-ins and themes. This means that known security vulnerabilities are regularly fixed and can be less exploited by attackers. This automatic update option for plugins can be found in the WordPress backend in the tab 'Plugins → Auto-Updates'. If you would like to have themes updated automatically, then simply open the particular theme and click on 'Activate Auto-Updates''.
