How do I create and delete a subdomain?

Creating a subdomain

You can create subdomains directly when you set up a new website.

Follow these steps:

1. Log in to the Hostpoint Control Panel with your Hostpoint ID.
2. Go to “Services” > “Websites”.
3. Click on “Create a website”.
4. Instead of selecting an existing domain, enter the desired name for your subdomain and select the corresponding domain.
   
5. Select the default settings and the directory and click “Create website”.

→ The website including subdomain is created.
→ The subdomain can be found under “Domains” > “Edit” > “Subdomains”.

Deleting a subdomain

Subdomains can be deleted in the domain administration section. You first need to ensure that the subdomain is no longer used, i.e. that it is no longer assigned to a website.

To delete a subdomain, follow these steps:

1. Open the menu item “Domains”.
2. Click on “Edit” for the desired domain to access domain administration.
3. Scroll down to the “Subdomains” section.
   → Under “Active subdomains” you can see all subdomains belonging to this domain.
   
4. Click on “Delete” for the desired subdomain.

→ The subdomain is deleted.
