If your e-mail program is not working properly, there may be various reasons for this.

In this article, we’ll show you how to troubleshoot common issues.

Outlook does not connect and does not display an error

If Microsoft Outlook no longer connects but does not display an error, we recommend the following procedure:

  1. Check that all settings are correct and that your password is correct. You can check your password by attempting to log in to Cloud Office with your e-mail address and password.
  2. If you have checked all the settings and the password is correct, Outlook may need to be repaired.
Note: The exact procedure for the repair always depends on the version of your operating system and your Outlook version.
    • Search for “Programs” or “Software” in the search box of your computer. This will take you to an overview of your installed programs.
    • Search for “Microsoft Office,” “Outlook” or “Office 365” and click on “Change”.
    • When you are given the option to uninstall or repair the program, select “Repair”.
    • Then select “Online Repair”. This takes a little longer, but is more thorough. You can find instructions from Microsoft at the following link: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/repair-an-office-application-7821d4b6-7c1d-4205-aa0e-a6b40c5bb88b

E-mails are regularly deleted

If your e-mail program automatically deletes older e-mails regularly, it is important to check your mailbox settings.

For both IMAP and POP3, depending on your settings, your e-mail program can automatically delete e-mails from the server.

These settings are different for each e-mail program. Therefore, it is important to consult the manufacturer of the corresponding program for the correct instructions. Unless you want e-mails to be regularly deleted, make sure to disable this in your mailbox settings.
