Are you the administrator of a Cloud Office group and want your users to be able to reset the password for their e-mail addresses themselves? Read this article to find out how.
A password is set for each Hostpoint e-mail address. This password is required to log in to Cloud Office and to set up the e-mail address in an e-mail program (e.g. Outlook, Apple Mail).
If users forget their e-mail address password, they can reset it directly on the Cloud Office login page. Exactly how this works is explained in the article “How can I reset the password for my e-mail address?”. However, the administrator of the Cloud Office group must first enable this feature.
Enable feature
To enable the feature, follow these steps:
- Log in to the Hostpoint Control Panel with your Hostpoint ID.
- Open “E-mail & Cloud Office”.

- Click “Display Cloud Office groups” at the top right.

- Select the Cloud Office group for which you would like to enable the feature.
- Click “Password & security” in the menu on the left.
- Enable the “Allow password reset” option.

→ The feature has been enabled.
Save emergency phone number
When resetting their e-mail password, users will receive a recovery code via SMS. An emergency phone number must be stored for each e-mail address for this purpose.
This phone number can be saved and changed in two ways:
- In Cloud Office: E-mail users can save and change the phone number themselves in the settings in Cloud Office.
- In the Hostpoint Control Panel: As an administrator, you can save the phone number in the e-mail address settings as per the instructions below.
- Log in to the Hostpoint Control Panel with your Hostpoint ID.
- Open “E-Mail & Cloud Office”.
- Select the e-mail address for which you would like to save the phone number.
- Click “Password & security” in the menu on the left.
- In the “Emergency phone number” section, click “Edit”.

- Click “Request verification code by SMS”.

→ The SMS with the code will be sent to the user’s phone number. - Enter the code.
- Click “Confirm mobile phone number”.

→ The emergency phone number has been saved.
