Migration from one Hostpoint web hosting to another
Within a Hostpoint ID
If you want to move your e-mail accounts from one web hosting of your Hostpoint ID to another and the owner remains the same, you can move the domain of the e-mail accounts to the Cloud Office group of the new web hosting. This will preserve all your messages and you will not have to delete and set up any new e-mail addresses.
To move the domain, proceed as follows:
- Log in to the Hostpoint Control Panel with your Hostpoint ID.
- Open the web hosting where the e-mail accounts are located.
- Click on “E-mail” in the menu and on “Domains” in the submenu.
- Scroll down to the “Move domain to another Cloud Office group” section.
- Click on “Select and move domain”.
- Select the domain whose e-mail accounts you want to move.
- Select the Cloud Office group to which you want to move the e-mail accounts. The Cloud Office group must be assigned to the new web hosting.
- Confirm that you are aware of the data deletion.
- Click on “Move selected domain”.
→ The domain and the associated e-mail accounts are moved to the new Cloud Office group and are therefore assigned to the new web hosting.
Between different Hostpoint IDs
If you would like to move your e-mail accounts from a web hosting of your Hostpoint ID to a web hosting of another Hostpoint ID and the owner therefore changes, we recommend using an e-mail client such as Outlook, Thunderbird or Apple Mail. This allows you to export your e-mail messages and then import them again once the e-mail address has been moved to the new web hosting.
